Study Programme 1: Supporting Children through Play Therapy - Approaches & Techniques
Five Day International Study Programme in Reggio Emilia, ItalyClinical Play Therapy supports children's active learning within the world around them, assimilating new information, resolving emotional difficulties, practicing positive new behaviour, and gaining confidence & self-esteem. The constructivist approach believes children are active constructors of their own knowledge. Clinical Play Therapists support children being active participants in their lives, by developing a sense of self identity, emotional intelligence, social relationships, & utilising a strengths based approach to resilience. The five-day International Study Programme enables participants to learn specialist Clinical Play Therapy approaches & techniques to support children's emotional health & wellbeing. Participants actively experience & learn how they can be positive catalysts for change & transformation in children's & families' lives. The innovative learning environments & interactive exhibitions in Reggio Emila demonstrate best practice that can further help to transform children's lives, and can inspire practitioners within their own settings to replicate some of these key ideas. 2010 Study Programme DatesEaster 2010 Monday 5th April to Friday 9th April. Study Programme 2: Supporting Children in the Early Years ~ The Pedagogy & Practice of Reggio Emilia
Five Day International Study Programme in Reggio Emilia, ItalyReggio Emilia, a city in Northern Italy, is widely known for its approach to educating young children. Founded by Loris Malaguzzi (1920 - 1994), it is a constructivist programme, based on the philosophy and practice that children are active constructors of their own knowledge. The Reggio Emilia method is made possible through a carefully articulated and collaborative approach to the care and education of young children. The five-day International Study Programme enables participants to be fully immersed in the theories & practice of the Reggio Emilia approach. It enables understanding, reflection, & integration of key theories & practice for each participant, inspiring & developing their professional practice for supporting young children's well-being. 2010 Study Programme DatesEaster 2010 Monday 12th April to Friday 16th April. Study Programme 3: Intensive Child-Centred Play Therapy ~ Key Techniques & Intensive Clinical Supervision Programme
Ten Day International Study Programme at the University of North Texas in the United States of AmericaThe University of North Texas Study Programme features six days of workshops led by recognized authorities in the field of play therapy from throughout the United States, Canada, and Australia. It provides high quality teaching, training, and supervision opportunities in child-centred play therapy with a variety of population groups. There are a further four days of intense and dynamic training includes instruction, demonstrations, and supervised experiences in individual and group child-centred play therapy using two-way mirrors, videotapes, and live supervision. In cohort groups of three play therapists to one supervisor, participants conduct a minimum of 6 play therapy sessions over the four-day training, observe a minimum of 12 play therapy sessions conducted by their cohorts, and participate in supervision and feedback sessions as a cohort. Utilizing a developmental perspective, participants will explore how to integrate child-centred play therapy into their own professional settings & play therapy practice. 2010 Study Programme Dates5th July to 15th July 2010. Study Programme 4: Promoting Resilience: Supporting Children's Emotional Development, Health & WellbeingPlay Therapy & the Natural Landscape
Five Day International Study Programme in West Wales, United KingdomClinical Play Therapy uses a range of specialist approaches and techniques to support, develop & extend children's play themes. This enables children to be scaffolded step-by-step in the acquisition of new behaviour, as well as understanding their thoughts & feelings. Troubles, worries, emotional & behavioural issues that are barriers to children's development & learning can be resolved & worked through, using the specialist techniques & assessment processes within Clinical Play Therapy. This five-day Study Programme enables participants to understand the importance of promoting resilience when working with children with emotional & behavioural issues. Strengths-based, adaptive behaviour can be supported by Clinical Play Therapy, and participants will learn how to achieve this, using themes & activities based within the natural landscape. Participants will also complete some experiential learning, through their own engagement in Clinical Play Therapy activities, for their personal development & transformation. The setting of the beautiful, tranquil & richly abundant natural landscape in West Wales will enable participants to fully experience the strengths within this approach to children's wellbeing, which can then be developed within their own professional setting. 2010 Study Programme DatesSummer 2010 Monday 23rd August to Friday 27th August. This programme is now FULL. Fees: £1450. Fees include accommodation. Advice on travel to the United Kingdom can be provided if required. Study Programme 5: Masterclasses in Play TherapyKey Skills in Play Therapy
