Support for Children in Care

A specialist support service for children in the care of local authorities is available, for use by these public funded organisations. Please see our brochure for more details of this service we offer. This programme ensures that positive attachment patterns are established for children in care within their new family environment, that any emotional & behavioural issues are supported effectively, and that each family receives the specialist support needed for the success of the foster placement.

Our Clinical Play Therapy support service is a Multidimensional Treatment Foster Care Prevention Programme (MTFC).The programme is based on Clinical Play Therapy & Social Learning Theory with an emphasis on behaviour management in a structured environment - it is specifically tailored to the biological social and emotional developmental needs of children in foster care. The approach is evidence-based with the American research indicating good outcomes. MTFC-P has been shown to increase placement stability from 50% to 80%; to mitigate the long term risk factors of having had multiple early life placement moves; and to increase overall attachment security.
