This programme ensures that positive attachment patterns are established for children in care within their new family environment, that any emotional & behavioural issues are supported effectively, and that each family receives the specialist support needed for the success of the foster placement. Our Clinical Play Therapy support service is a Multidimensional Treatment Foster Care Prevention Programme (MTFC).The programme is based on Clinical Play Therapy & Social Learning Theory with an emphasis on behaviour management in a structured environment - it is specifically tailored to the biological social and emotional developmental needs of children in foster care. The approach is evidence-based with the American research indicating good outcomes. MTFC-P has been shown to increase placement stability from 50% to 80%; to mitigate the long term risk factors of having had multiple early life placement moves; and to increase overall attachment security.
